Heart Failure Case Study

57 yo male with history of systolic heart failure diagnosed in February 2024 through Transthoracic Echocardiogram (TTE), with persistently low left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) of 23%, despite very expensive medications (given by the director of Advanced Heart Failure Center at UCSF) for 10 months – without any improvements. His cardiologist gave him a 50% chance of survival in 2 years. Patient was disqualified from the heart transplant list due to chronic renal failure. He could not longer work starting in January 2024.

On 10/23/2024 patient received 4cc of CharaCore stem cells in 200cc normal saline, infused slowly over 90 mins due to his cardiomyopathy. Within 1-2 weeks, patient reported significant improvements in his symptoms and was able to return to work full time. A repeat TTE on 12/12/2024 showed a LVEF of 57% (normal range 55-70%).

2 more months later at the time of this report, patient continues to do well and has not needed to receive further stem cell treatments.
